Ladies this is a story for you! You want to talk about hard work! This girl works! Not only at the gym during workouts but at home with her nutrition! The combination has got her absolutely ridiculous results!
Ainslie is a 23 year old Student/City Worker who started at LP in May 2013! Ainslie had previously been working hard at a few different boot camps and doing the typical gym routine with weights and cardio but wasn’t getting the results that she wanted! When she started at LP it didn’t take her long to get hooked!
“I joined LP at the beginning of May 2013 after the constant urging of Elizabeth Eitel 🙂 She was super excited about working out there and I thought that I would give it a try. I was bored with the boot camp I was attending 3 times a week and workouts at Goodlife weren’t cutting it. I was attending the gym regularly but was stuck in a routine of doing mediocre cardio routines and a few weight machines here and there. When I finally decided to try out LP my first workout kicked my butt! I started on a day that included Bulgarian squats (ahhhh) and the day after I could barely even move. Regardless of how sore I was, I stuck it out for the entire week trial, going for all 5 days. After that I knew that LP was the right fit for me and was going to help me achieve my goals and get in shape.”
Ainslie was looking for more than your everyday workout and she was also looking for a boost to give her the confidence she wanted in herself! She wanted to look better and feel better about her appearance like all of us! As a young girl she had tried the weight loss programs and fad diets but like most of us out there they worked for a period of time but then …… all of the hard work was lost.
“Before LP I was pretty unhappy with my weight. I have never been super athletic or active, aside from dancing competitively for several years when I was younger. While I was working out and attempting to eat what I thought was right, I wasn’t seeing the results that I wanted. Food was an extremely social thing for me and I ate out all the time. As a result, my weight has fluctuated for quite some time. One summer I did Weight Watchers and lost about 15 pounds, only to gain it back and then some when I went off the plan. I was a classic yo-yo dieter who was into weight loss and working out for the instant gratification of weight loss, not the long haul. Nothing that I was doing was sustainable in leading a long-term healthy lifestyle that promoted my vitality. My energy levels were low. I was napping all the time and didn’t want to do anything active throughout the day. I thought that eating a salad and a few vegetables throughout the day was good enough, while substituting the rest of my diet with tons of bread, cheese and refined sugars and processed snack foods. I knew that I wasn’t in great shape, even though I was going to the gym a few times a week. I weighed in at 175 when I started the program which was slowly creeping up to what my highest weight had been a few years back. I knew I had to do something and didn’t want to continue on that path.”
Ainslie, like most of our members, isn’t focused 100% on her weight loss and body fat % but instead focuses more on her overall fitness and health which in-turn has got her these incredible results!
Rarely does Ainslie miss a workout! Not because she doesn’t want to but because she just can’t resist the feeling of a great workout at LP and of course her #LPFamily
“LP did something that I never thought could happen to me: it got me excited about working out. The trainers are understanding and knowledgeable and took the time to show me the proper form for all exercises as well as modify anything that wasn’t working for me. When I first started out, I had a skewed perception of health, fitness and body image. I thought that the ideal diet was eating low fat, low calorie processed diet foods while doing tons of cardio, all for the end result of being skinny. Now, my everyday life is extremely health centred. I eat tons and tons of plant based foods which give me lots of energy for my workouts. LP sparked my interest in nutrition and fitness and I can honestly say that I am healthier inside and out because of joining their program. I now have a passion for cooking clean, wholesome foods. I look forward to going to the gym every day because I know that I will be challenged and faced with tons of variety. The group program is absolutely amazing! I have met some amazing people who have become great friends inside and outside of the gym. Whether you’re a long time member of LP or it’s your first time in the gym, there is always someone there to encourage, support and push you through it.”
Ok, so how about the results! Not only has she dropped 10lbs and almost 10% body fat, she has increased her overall fitness tremendously! Her strength and conditioning have gone through the roof!
Her Squat, Bench Press, Deadlift, and Cleans have almost doubled in weight since day one! This has increased her muscle mass and decreased her body fat percentage! Allowing her to burn more calories at rest each and everyday! Yes girls, lean muscle mass and strength help you Lose Weight and BF %!
Her conditioning and fitness has also increased tremendously! Her Beep Test has gone up two full levels! The improved conditioning has made her stronger and healthier, made everyday activites a breeze, and the conditioning workouts help her burn calories like no other!
Last but not least, when Ainslie started body weight exercises were a struggle! But after months of hard work, she crushes Push-Ups and to start 2014 she got her 1st Full Pull Up/Chin Up (every girls proudest day….right??? ;))
“I know that if I worked out on my own without the trainers or my peers I wouldn’t have achieved half of the results that I have. The healthy competition and encouragement among everyone is truly one of the best parts about working out in the group program. I used to be so focused on the number on the scale and just wanted to be skinny, regardless of my actual health. Today, my goals have completely changed. I want to be able to lift more, run faster and be that girl with the ripped arms and legs! Once my goals and mindset, with the help of the LP team and trainers, switched, I was truly able to focus on self-love, health and my fitness rather than just getting the immediate gratification of being ‘skinny’. I have tons more energy throughout the day and have a spring in my step now that I have started working out at LP. I completed my first ever chin-up and several 5ks (which I never thought I would be able to do!) While LP has kickstarted my fitness and health journey and I have lost 10 pounds, I still want to lower my body fat and build more muscle! I’m in it for the long haul and my journey is no where near over yet!”
Now what about one of the most important part ladies!!! How has LP affected her relationship with her man, a sweet guy at that, and fellow LP Member/Warrior Grayson!?!?!
“LP has had an amazing effect on my relationship! When I first joined, it took a lot of convincing to get my boyfriend to come out and try a 1 week trial. Once I finally convinced him about a month or two after I joined, he was hooked! He was always athletic and played sports his whole life, but LP took his fitness and strength to another level. Being at LP for a few months got Grayson’s 1 rep max’s up higher than I ever thought! He also lost a ton of body fat and got his muscle definition back. Both of us are super excited about each other’s new found beach bods. Because we both are members of LP, we push each other in the gym to do our best and to show up! If for some reason I couldn’t go to the gym one day and Grayson could, I would force him to tell me what the workout was that day! We’re addicted! With our new active lifestyle, we started doing more activities on our free time that were more active like going on walks or hikes rather than watching a movie and eating a bowl of chips and dip. Having a partner who has a common interest and lifestyle with you is so important, and we’re so lucky to be able to support each other in and outside of the gym with each other’s fitness and nutrition goals!”
