Hi, my name is Jocelyn Schofield, I’ve been a member at LP since July 2014. I have been working out with the ladies of the 6am Crew since day one. I am a mom, a wife, and an accountant. The 6am workouts fit great into my busy schedule and allow me to get up early, sweat it out, and then get home to get myself and my family ready for our day ahead.
I was never much of an athlete growing up. I had been a regular off and on again GoodLife member who paid for a membership I rarely used. I was never good at pushing myself when working out alone. After I had my son I got into running. I joined the Running Room Learn to Run 5k and really enjoyed the group training they provided. I continued through their programs and went on to run two half marathons which was something I never thought I could do. Running gave me the confidence and drive to want to continue to be active.
When one of my running friends heard about LP, I knew it was time for a change from running, so we decided to give it a try. We thought it would be a good way to mix some cross training in with our running schedule. With the help of the trainers, we pushed through the grueling first week, got hooked, and decided to become full time members.
I love the atmosphere at the gym, it’s one big family.
I am not a very competitive person, but find the group environment helps push me to work my hardest and put my best effort into each work out. Everyone from the coaches to the members are all so supportive, no matter what level you are at.
I love the variety and challenge of each workout, you never get bored during an LP workout!
The guidance and support provided by the coaches at LP have been the main key to my success. Through the direction provided in Michelle’s nutrition program, I have learned to care about what I am feeding my body. It has provided me with the tools to know the right mix of food and portion size to get results.
Before the Fall Body Fat Challenge, I had hit the highest weight I have ever been and knew I needed to make a change. The challenge gave me something to work towards, made me accountable. This experience has really shown me how important your diet is. I had been working out for just over a year at LP, but only once I started to place more focus on my nutrition did I see such drastic body composition results.
In addition to the nutrition support, the amazing training provided by the coaches has really helped me push through the last 9 months to get where I am today. They take the time to ensure you are using proper technique and are always there to help modify a workout to your level of strength.
Through living an active life style, I am not only improving my physical health, but my mental health too. I have seen a huge reduction in stress and anxiety since becoming a LP member which has allowed me to be a better wife and mother.
I want to be a good role model for my son, show him that hard work does pay off. He is already a very active 6 year old, I need to stay strong and healthy if I want to keep up with him as he grows! I know he is watching at all times.
He said to me a month after the Body Fat Challenge “Mommy, when is your challenge over, when are you going to stop eating healthy all the time?”. I told him, this is the new norm!
