14 Days of Sweating
We have gotten through our first two weeks of the challenge and for the most part it hasn’t been too bad. We had our first real challenge on Sunday that tested our ability to keep going. On Sunday we had an event that we had to go to that started at 7am and went throughout the whole day and Adam had a hockey game to coach at night in Hamilton. So the morning was really our only option… We decided to get up at 5:30am and go for a run. When the alarm went off at 5:30, all we could hear was pouring rain on the roof. We contemplated back and forth whether or not we should go but ultimately that time was our only time.
So we layered up, laced up and out we went for a run in the pouring rain! I have never had quite the experience… In five minutes, my feet were soaking wet and the water was just gushing back and forth through my toes. I also had my glasses on and they were fogging up and had rain drops all over them. So I had to take them off and run blind. Luckily I had a partner that guided me through the streets. That is one thing that I would highly recommend for anyone, a workout partner. A workout partner motivates you and helps get you through situations you may not be able to get through alone. Sunday, was an event I probably wouldn’t have done on my own. Having the support of a workout partner makes all the difference.
To get out there that morning was a challenge but a run probably neither of us will forget.
